Just to tickle your taste buds, the first of our many No Carbs Before Marbs diet plans will be published shortly. Our first diet plan (numero uno) we have aptly named – The Pre Marbella Plan.
As with any diet plan, there are a number of Do’s and Don’ts to consider (I know ‘YAWN’), and we have lovingly listed them all below. However, stick to these guidelines and the soon to be provided meal plan, and you should be on the road to achieving the following goals:
- Increased energy levels (Just so you can party till dawn with one of the many Adonis down at the Port)
- Improved skin, nails & hair (Hands up those who want luscious locks, fabulous nails and Kylie Minogue’s skin)
- A better nights sleep (erm….That may not be on the cards in Marbella, but when normal life resumes you should be sleeping like a baby)
- And the best of all….LOSING THE WEIGHT!!!
The DON’TS
OK, so lets start off with the bad stuff. These are foods that you should be removing from your diet, or better known here at NCBM as the 6 deadly sins:
- No SUGAR – that means no cakes, muffins, chocolate, and the list continues, they are no longer your friends!!!
- No WHEAT – this includes, bread and pasta, so bring on the salads!!
- No DAIRY – milk & cheese….need we say more.
- No PROCESSED FOODS – this is anything that contains e-factors or foods that are packaged, boxed or can be microwaved.
- No CAFFEINE – yes this includes both Tea AND Coffee. Be positive, just think though of all that money you will be saving!
- and finally, the pièce de résistance, No ALCOHOL – NONE, NADA, ZIP….no one said this was going to be easy.
The DO’S
OK, so now we have established that pretty much all our comfort foods are off limits, let’s lighten the mood! There are a few simple steps we can be doing to help us achieve our goals (remember those things we talked about above – luscious locks, fabulous nails, KYLIE’S SKIN!!).Keep in mind the following, and you will begin to forget about those nasty DON’TS in no time.
- DRINK MORE WATER– The majority of people today are dehydrated, so make sure you keep that water bottle close to you at all times. Don’t over do it though, the trick is to make sure you don’t feel thirsty as that’s not a good sign. Click here to calculate how much water you should really be drinking. This website is also excellent at explaining why being dehydrated is so bad for you!!!
- EXERCISE DAILY – We are not talking about hitting the gym for 3 hours a day, this is a more gentle approach. 30 minutes a day should do it. So if ‘The Gyms Not Your Thing’ there are plenty of other daily activities we can do to get that heart pumping. these include:
- Walking rather than jumping into the car. If that’s not possible, just park as far away from your destination as you can so you need to use those pins!!!
- Use the stairs
- Reduce time spent sitting down – sounds a bit odd but it works. We spend far to long on our backsides, so if you can, just stand up and move around. In a few weeks time you will be wanting to show off your pert posterior anyway!
- TAKE UP AN ACTIVE HOBBY – OK this possibly should be in the above BUT we think it deserves a bullet point all to itself. At NCBM we have decided to take up the dreaded ZUMBA classes. Who cares if we look like idiots! Every time we shake that booty we can feel the pounds just dropping off!! Also, no one said you have to take classes in the church hall, there are plenty of videos that you can purchase so you can enjoy said activity in the comfort of your home.
- KEEP POSITIVE – Whether you are doing this just to loose a few pounds, or if you have a real need to get fit and healthy again, remember your goals. Pin them on your wall, put them on the fridge, staple them to the back of your bosses jacket – you get the jist. Just don’t lose sight of them.
- TELL FRIENDS WHAT YOU ARE DOING – By doing this you are letting the cat out of the bag and it will be more difficult to fall of the wagon. Also – if they are any good, they should be supporting you and may even join you on your quest. X
